Stump Grinding

Tree stump removal in Hinesville, GA

Removing a stump does not have to mean digging a hole. Grinding takes the stump below ground level, leaves the roots to rot and leaves the yard intact. Derrick removes stumps by grinding; he does not pull them.

01Stump Grinding

Grinding versus digging

Digging a stump out pulls the whole root ball and leaves a crater that needs fill. Grinding takes the visible stump and the top of the root flare below grade, and the rest decays in the ground. It is faster, cleaner and leaves the surrounding ground undisturbed.

Derrick removes stumps by grinding on lots, acreage and homesites across Southeast Georgia. See stump grinding for the full service.

Questions about tree stump removal

Will the stump grow back?

Some species sprout from roots for a while. Grinding below grade removes the stump itself; any sprouts can be cut at ground level and will give up within a season or two.

Do I need to do anything before you come?

Mark any sprinkler lines, cables or pipes near the stumps if you know where they are. Derrick will check the area before grinding.
