Residential stump grinding in Hinesville, GA

Storm damage, old removals and cleared backyards leave stumps in the way. Derrick grinds them below grade so the yard mows clean and the spot can be planted or sodded.

01Stump Grinding

Stumps in the yard

A stump in a lawn is a mower hazard, a trip risk and a home for termites and ants. Grinding takes it down below the grass line and leaves chips that settle into the hole. Within a season the spot is level and growing grass again.

If a backyard has grown up to the tree line, Derrick can clear the brush and grind the stumps in the same visit. See lot clearing for how that works.

Questions about residential stump grinding

Will grinding damage my lawn?

The grinder works in a small footprint around the stump. There will be chips to rake and a soft spot to fill, but the lawn around it is left alone.

Can you grind a stump close to a fence or foundation?

Usually, yes. Derrick will look at the spot on the estimate and tell you how close he can safely work.
