Overgrown land in Southeast Georgia
Our sandy soil, long growing season and wet summers mean a tract can go from open to impassable in five or six years. Pine saplings, sweetgum, vines and palmetto fill in under the canopy, and the only way to see what you own is to cut it back.
Forestry mulching clears all of it while keeping the mature trees. That matters for hunting land, where you want cover and sight lines, and for a homesite, where the trees are part of why you bought the property.

What Derrick checks first
He walks the whole tract before the machine goes in. Old fences, wells, wet ground, dumped debris and property pins are all easier to find on foot than from the cab. On one yard job he pulled a buried bicycle out of the brush that would have gone straight into the mulcher head.

How long does it take to mulch an overgrown tract?
Roughly a day and a half for three to four acres of heavy growth. Larger tracts are scheduled over several days so the work is done right, not rushed.
Can you mulch around trees I want to keep?
Yes. Selective mulching is most of what Derrick does. Flag the trees you want kept, or walk them with him, and everything else comes down.
