Land Clearing
Brush and underbrush removal in Hinesville, GA
The understory is what makes a wooded property unusable: briars, palmetto, vines and saplings between the trees. Derrick clears it with the mulcher and leaves the canopy alone.

Clearing the understory
Underbrush removal is the most common first step on a wooded lot. The mulcher works between the trees, grinds the brush and saplings into ground cover, and leaves the pines and oaks with clear space around them. You get open, walkable woods and the shade you paid for.
It is the right call for a homesite you want to keep wooded, hunting land that needs sight lines, and any lot where the big trees are staying. For the full clearing job, see land clearing.

Why mulching beats scraping here
A bucket or blade pulls up the root mat and leaves bare sand. In this part of Georgia that washes out with the first heavy rain. Mulching leaves the roots and a layer of ground brush on top, so the soil stays put.

Will you damage the trees I want to keep?
No. The mulcher is worked around them. Derrick walks the lot with you first so the keepers are clear before the machine goes in.
How much underbrush can you clear in a day?
It depends on how thick it is. A lightly grown lot moves fast; a lot that has gone ten years can take a day and a half for three or four acres.
